  1. A regular three strand milkmaid’s braid is appealing.

Or a bun that you wrap around a ponytail (after making the ponytail) that is secured with another ponytail holder or a scruncie.

    1. That’s so cute! It kinda looks like the bun that Belle wears in the animated “Beauty and the Beast” movie.

  2. Idk if you’ve done this one yet or not, but I am really interested in the rose buns…like I don’t have a good pic on this computer but the buns that are like braids twisted into the shape of a rose. I could post a pic tomorrow.

  3. I have thick hair that reaches about half an inch below my shoulders. I am a dancer and I was wondering, do you have any hair styles that would keep it out of my face and nice looking? Thanks!

    1. Sure! (I’ll link to a couple of tutorials we already have) I’m always happy to give sporty/dance styles a go, so be sure to keep an eye out for more of those tutorials. For now here are a couple of links for some styles that should work for dance and look nice at the same time!

Hopefully at least one of those will be helpful to you! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. Hi! Love your website! Especially cool you do Seton too! Do you have any advice on using an iron to curl hair? Mine is thick and I have trouble making my hair curl with an iron, nevertheless make it stay while I’m moving around! Thank you!

  5. Hey Clare, I LOVE your website๐Ÿ˜ Iโ€™m Victoria from Catholic Harbor and I usually have some trouble doing hairstyles on my hair so this website is really helping lol! I love boho hairstyles, so maybe you could do a tutorial for overnight waves and braids kind of like in these pictures??? The ponytail one is really cute!!20-Chic-Boho-Hairstyles-Must-Try-This-Summer-2.jpg

    1. Hi Victoria! I’m Sabrina, one of the authors on here. (: I’m so glad you like this website and that you are finding it helpful! I LOVE boho styles too, but I have short hair…I’m currently thinking up a few boho hairstyles that work on both short and long hair! I love both of those hairstyles and I actually believe someone else put a picture of that first half up style too, so hopefully one of the authors will do a tutorial on them soon! thanks for visiting!

  6. Do you have any hairstyles that aren’t just the simple bun, but are still easy hairstyles that would do for getting long hair out of the way for working at a cafรฉ or something?

    1. Hi Gianna! I’m not on Seton Chess, but nice to meet you. ๐Ÿ˜‰ That’s so pretty, well since cutegirlshairstyles already made a tutorial for that specific style (that’s where the pic is from), I could try some sort of variation to it at some point, if you like? ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Well I would like if you could show me how to do it going into a pony.

Also I feel like your tutorials are way easier than any other websites i’ve seen ๐Ÿ˜€

        1. and sorry I didnโ€™t respond until a month later it didnโ€™t show up until now for some reason๐Ÿ™‚

        2. Of course! I’m actually glad that you want to know this one because i LOVE this style!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ll see about getting a post up soon for it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. Hi!
I have my first Latin (Rhythm) Ballroom dance competition in a couple of months, and I was wondering if you would be able to post a simple hair style that I could wear.

    Thanks:)

    1. Hello! that sounds very exciting! What type of hairstyles would be appropriate for that kind of competition? (Like up-dos, half-ups, curls, etc.) I imagine they would have to keep the hair away from your face, and be secure? Let me know! I’d love to help you with a hairstyle.

      1. Hi! Yes, I am very excited:)
Its going to be my first competition, and in a beginner level. Probably something stylish but simple would be great.
Every hairstyle I have seen for competitions in Latin always have the hair pulled out of the face with no hair hanging loose (unless its in a ponytail).
My hair is a medium-light brown with natural red highlights, short bangs, and thick hair that reaches about an inch or two past my shoulders.
        Thank you so much!!!!!

  9. are you able to do like a messy side bun, similar to what Jenny Lind had when she visited Queen Victoria in the Greatest Showman? If you haven’t seen the movie I could probably get you a pic.

    1. A pic if always helpful, and I personally haven’t seen the movie so that would be good if you could find one. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks!

      1. Yes that is exactly what I was thinking of! Thanks for that! ๐Ÿ˜€
I don’t think there is a picture of the bun in general, that is probably the best pic I can find, although you would definitely know what it looks like better if you’ve seen the movie! Like I said, it is kinda a messy side bun ๐Ÿ˜‰

  10. I was wondering if y’all could do some more of the easier hairstyles… I am kind of a beginner, and the more easy ones the better lol. Anyway, that would be my main request. Thanks!

  11. Iโ€™m looking for some fancy hairdos (either updos or hair down) for some nice dinners coming up. I have thick, straight, and layered hair that is about shoulder length. What would be some suggestions? Also, if you could do a few hairstyles that feature headbands, that would be great! (Not the cloth headbands, the plastic ones that go behind your ear)

    1. Hello! I’m one of the authors here, and I’m so glad that you’re requesting fancy hairdos! I actually have been planning on posting for fancy hairdos! The timing could not be better. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I actually have thick layered hair, and mine is about shoulder-length as well, so when i post it should be fairly simple for you to replicate. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜› thanks for the requests! Keep them coming!

  12. I have a request! Queen Elsaโ€™s hair for her coronation! (From Frozen)
She does this twist thingy and a bun with attractive bindings… itโ€™s very pretty ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Hello! I’m one of the authors here! And i think your request is a great one! We’ll definitely add it to our list. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thank you for the request! Keep them coming! โค

  13. Hi! (Love this site by way, I visit it when I can :))
I have had my hair cut recently so I now have a side fringe. Any suggestions or hairstyles I can do to leave my fringe out but have my hair up? I don’t mind half up half downs, or buns, or anything to be honest. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi Elodie! Thank you so much, so happy you like it! ๐Ÿ™‚
Many of our tutorials would work great with a fringe, all you would need to do is follow all the steps but leave your fringe out. Feel free to look through all out tutorials in the gallery, and keep an eye out for ‘fringe friendly’ hairstyles in the future. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜‰

  14. Hello! I was wondering if you have any hairstyles that I could use for a prom / dinner / thingy.
My hair is waist length, light brown and is very fine. It is also quite thin, and knots up very easily. Oh, and hairstyles that are up (buns, etc) suit me more than down hairstyles (half ups are OK though) because my hair tends to end up a bit limp and scraggly when its down XD

    1. Hi Chia! First, if you don’t mind me asking, how long is it until your event?
I’ll definitely see what I can do, and hopefully come up with something before your event. ๐Ÿ™‚ As I just mentioned above, feel free to browse our gallery for all our current tutorials. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜‰

      God bless,
      ~Clare

  15. I have a fascination with messy buns, because they are so simple, versatile, and easy, so I use them for EVERYTHING, lol. I would appreciate some more posts, tips, and ideas on boho chic hairstyles. Thanks and keep up the good work, your website is awesome!!

    1. Hi Abby, thanks for stopping by!

Oh, I totally agree, messy buns are the best! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thank you for the request, we’ll see what we can come up with. Feel free to link pictures of hairstyles whenever that you’d like us to try out. (:

Thanks so much, we’re so happy you like SGH!

  16. So I have fairly medium length hair overall (or maybe a little towards the short side) which reaches about two inches below my shoulder when straight. The thing is, it’s also curly (like a mix between curly and wavy) and has a lot of layers with the shortest being at about the middle of my neck. And I can’t do braids. XD Sooo I was wondering if there would be a good hairstyle that I could do on myself? I can pretty much only do inverted ponytails + basic ponytails right now, although I haven’t tried many other hairstyles. Also, what do you think would be the easy type of braid to do on myself?
    Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜€

  17. Hi Megan! I hope some of these suggestions will help you out! ๐Ÿ™‚

Ok, so I would suggest trying out some half up hairstyles to begin with since they’re much easier if you have a lot of layers. Here are a couple of tutorials I would suggest trying (no braiding required, except for some basic plaiting):

    https://setongirlshairstyles.com/2019/05/29/narnian-tieback-beginner-diy

A braid I would recommend trying on yourself is a dutch braid, as I find they’re a great beginner braid (once you get the hang of it) and are better if you have a lot of layers. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here are some posts that might help you with learning how to dutch braid:

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask them, as I’m more than happy to help! Also, if you try out any of these hairstyles, I would love to see some photo recreations of them! So please feel free to share them! ๐Ÿ˜€

  18. I think some more complex ponytails would be super cool/awesome! And some that can hold up to contact sports like soccer and hockey. Or some that are perfect for softball!
