3 DIY hairdos for short hair

By Emily

Hey there everyone! Emily here.  Today, I gathered up a few of my favorite DIY hairstyles for y’all to enjoy!  These are for all y’all who were asking for some hairstyles for short hair, but these hairdos work well on any length.  So, these hairstyles should work on both short and long hair.  😉

~The first hairstyle I have to share with y’all is super duper simple.  It doesn’t take up too much time, and I personally find it really cute.  All you gotta do is follow the super simple steps below!

  1.  Brush hair.
  2.  Gather a section of hair from the front of your head and bring it to the back of your head.
  3. Using only that section, begin to fishtail-braid the hair.
  4.  Secure with a hairband.
  5. Add hairspray as desired.

Voilà!

~Second hairdo!

  1.  Brush hair.
  2. Part hair to one side.
  3.  Begin to dutch braid the side of the head with more hair, to the back of the head (here, you can either pin the braid in place and leave the rest of your hair down, or you can continue to follow the steps).
  4.  Pull remaining hair back into ponytail.
  5. Secure with hairband.
  6.  Go back and loosen the braid carefully, giving it a fuller and more messy look.–This step is completely optional!  You don’t have to do this one.
  7. Add hairspray as desired.

In the end, your hair should look something like this:

~And last but not least, the third hairstyle!

  1. Brush hair.
  2. Pull hair back into a ponytail.
  3. Tease hair, thus making it more voluminous.
  4. Twist the hair into a messy bun.
  5. Pin to your satisfaction/liking.
  6. Add hairspray as desired.

This hairdo is one of my favorite go-to’s!  Mainly because, it’s hard to do buns to my short hair, but this one actually works, and doesn’t look half-bad either.  😉

And that’s all there is to it!  Three of my favourite DIY hairdos for short hair!  😀  Let me know what y’all think, which ones are your favourites, and if you’d like to see more hairstyles for short hair!  Happy hairstyling, y’all!

~Emily

    1. Thanks, Clare! ❤ Great to know! I do find the dutch braid into the ponytail one of my favorites! 😀 😉 It's so easy, and looks fairly cute. 😉 Thanks again! ❤

    1. Thanks, Zelie! ❤ I'm really glad that you liked 'em! If you wanna see more for short hair, just let me know! Also, please let me know if these hairdos work on you! Thanks again! ❤ 😀

    1. You absolutely can do these with long hair! 🙂 As a bit of proof, I’ve done them on my little sister, and her hair is quite long. 😉 These hairstyles can be done on any length. ❤

        1. Haha! Funny you should say that…. ‘Cause, I actually just got about an inch and a half off a few days ago. 😛 So, yeah, my hair’s much shorter than in these pics. xP ❤ Isn't short hair just the best?! ❤

          1. oh my gosh, really?! Y E S girl I am loving short hair!!! I love experimenting with different hairstyles and stuff, it’s just so fun! : ) ❤

            1. Yes! That’s awesome! ❤ Right?! It's so great! Though, have to be honest, I haven't had "long hair" for, like…the past three years or so. :/ I'm actually planning on growing my hair out now, haha. So, it's great that we'll have someone else to do the "short hair styles". XD

    1. Thanks, Therese! I’m really glad that you liked them! Awh, yes, the fishtail one! My little sis //loves// having that done to her hair now. I can’t get her to stop asking me to do it to her hair, haha. 😉 Thank you! ❤

    1. Thank you, Cecilia! 😀 Haha! Oh, for sure! These styles work on any length, really. I just had it titled for short hair because there aren’t many hairdos one can do to short hair, and these happened to work…if that makes sense, haha? xD

    1. Thank you! Well, it should work on layered hair. Seeing as how mine is extremely layered, haha. 😉 If you have any problems figuring the styles out, just let me know & I’ll do my best to help you out! 😀
