Hey there everyone! Emily here. Today, I gathered up a few of my favorite DIY hairstyles for y’all to enjoy! These are for all y’all who were asking for some hairstyles for short hair, but these hairdos work well on any length. So, these hairstyles should work on both short and long hair. 😉
~The first hairstyle I have to share with y’all is super duper simple. It doesn’t take up too much time, and I personally find it really cute. All you gotta do is follow the super simple steps below!
- Brush hair.
- Gather a section of hair from the front of your head and bring it to the back of your head.
- Using only that section, begin to fishtail-braid the hair.
- Secure with a hairband.
- Add hairspray as desired.
Voilà!
~Second hairdo!
- Brush hair.
- Part hair to one side.
- Begin to dutch braid the side of the head with more hair, to the back of the head (here, you can either pin the braid in place and leave the rest of your hair down, or you can continue to follow the steps).
- Pull remaining hair back into ponytail.
- Secure with hairband.
- Go back and loosen the braid carefully, giving it a fuller and more messy look.–This step is completely optional! You don’t have to do this one.
- Add hairspray as desired.
In the end, your hair should look something like this:
~And last but not least, the third hairstyle!
- Brush hair.
- Pull hair back into a ponytail.
- Tease hair, thus making it more voluminous.
- Twist the hair into a messy bun.
- Pin to your satisfaction/liking.
- Add hairspray as desired.
This hairdo is one of my favorite go-to’s! Mainly because, it’s hard to do buns to my short hair, but this one actually works, and doesn’t look half-bad either. 😉

Sadly I don’t have short hair but I think you can do these with long hair too right?
You can definitely do all of these on long hair, they would look great on any length! 😉 😀
You absolutely can do these with long hair! 🙂 As a bit of proof, I’ve done them on my little sister, and her hair is quite long. 😉 These hairstyles can be done on any length. ❤
