2 easy sport hairstyles

Today I’m going to show you 2 of my go-to sports hairstyles. I play competition basketball, and have for years, but these are two of the styles I come back to the most. They’re quick, easy, look nice, and keep your hair out of your face. What more could you want? 😀

This was totally unintentional, but I find it really funny how our last 2 posts on here were either 2 in 1 hairstyles or 3 in 1. It looks like you’re all gonna get another bonus post here with me giving you 2 styles too! 😉

Hairstyle No. 1: Double dutch side braids: My go-to is usually just a single dutch braid on one side into a ponytail, but I thought, why not spice it up a bit? So instead I’m going to show you how to do this fun style with not one but two dutch braids!

Both of these will work for any length of hair as long as you can tie it back.

And… Hairstyle No. 2: Dutch accent ponytail: This hairstyle is so easy to do, and it just adds something more to your average ponytail.

Items needed: comb, 1 hair tie, 2 small rubber elastics. {hairspray & bobby pins if desired}

Time: 3-4 minutes for each.

Skill level: Easy

Step-by-step instructions:

Hairstyle No. 1: double dutch braids

  1.  Start with your hair down and parted to the side..
  2. Dutch braid your hair until you get past your ear..
  3. Then stop adding in hair and continue with a plait…
  4. Gently go back and pancake the the braid…
  5. Secure with an elastic..
  6. Now reach behind the first braid and repeat steps 2-5..
  7. Add all the hair into a ponytail at whatever height you like, then make sure to add the braid in.
  8. Once the ponytail is secure, take the elastic out of the braid.
  9. And you’re done!
  10. {Alternative finish, you could also put the ponytail up into a messy bun for a cute look, or a normal bun, whichever you like!}

Hairstyle No. 2: dutch braid accent

  1. Begin with your hair down..
  2. Next part a small section in the middle of your head to braid..
  3. Splitting the hair into 3 sections of hair, dutch braid taking small sections from either side of the hair until you get to the crown of your head..
  4. Finish off the braid with a normal plait, and then go back and pancake..
  5. Secure the ends of the plait with an elastic..
  6. Pull all your hair up into a relatively high ponytail.. and add the braid into that as well..
  7. Secure with a hair tie, and you’re done!

{Alternative finish, you could also put the ponytail up into a messy bun for a cute look for both of the hairstyles. Or a normal bun, whichever you like!}

I hope you enjoyed those quick and easy sports hairstyles, which would look awesome even if you didn’t use them for sport! Which was your favourite?
