Hello Everyone!
Today I am going to show you how to do one of my favorite hairstyles. This one is great if your hair can be a little unruly and wild, like mine, and you just need a quick and simple hairstyle to make it look nice and put together.
This works great on short hair, however like always, it also works on long hair too. (:
Let’s get started!
********************
Items needed: 2 small hair elastics, 1 hair tie, 5-6 bobby pins as needed // Difficulty: easy-medium // time needed: 5-7 minutes.
********************
1.) Start with your hair parted in a side part. (A middle part works too, so just part your hair where you like it.)
2.) Started on the side where your side bun will be, begin to dutch braid straight back. One you start to reach the end of the crown of your head, finish the braid without adding in any more strands and secure with an elastic. (I like to leave some hair strands down in the front to frame my face)
3.) Now do a dutch braid in the same way on the other side, except instead of going straight back try to curve it slightly around your head. Once you reach the end of the crown of your head, continue braiding down without adding any more strands and secure with your second elastic. Then go back and pancake both braids.
4.) Now gather all your hair to one side for your side messy bun. I did mine on my left side. Now do a messy bun. I feel like everyone does their messy bun differently, but this is the way I do mine. I start to wrap it around like I’m doing a ponytail, but twist your elastic when your hair is about halfway through, then wrap it over. So it almost looks like a pull through ponytail. I hope that makes sense, and here’s some pictures of the steps, which should help a bit.
5.) Now grab random strands from your pull-through messy bun and bobby pin them down so you’re messy bun looks more messy and full.
And that’s it!
I hope you liked this hairstyle! Don’t forget to leave a comment and/or question below and subscribe to this blog if you like what you see!
See ya!
