Diy Tieback Braid

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying the Easter season!

Today I have this super pretty braid to show you! I came up with it on Easter to do on one of my sisters for the vigil. Everyone loved it, and I thought it turned out really well, so I knew I had to do a tutorial for it!  I did it again on my cousin when she came over to my house last week, and decided to take some pics for fun, but they turned out so well I decided not to take new ones with the braid on myself. The video is done on me though. 😉

The name of the braid literally comes from how you create it, its just a series of tie-backs  flipped under themselves.  Then you pull the edges a bit to create some dimension to the braid, and repeat!

Another thing I love about this braid is the fact that you can do it on almost any hair type! So straight hair, curly hair, wavy hair, messy hair, clean hair, dirty hair, long hair, and you can even turn it into a half up for short hair! How awesome is that?

One other thing that is great about this hairstyle, is that anyone can do it! It doesn’t require any braiding whatsoever, just tying sections of hair together!

Plus it’s a super secure braid because of all the hair ties, so if you have super thick hair (like my cousin ;)) it works great, and if you have really thin hair it should work really well too!

Items needed: a handful of rubber hair ties (preferably to match your hair colour), and a bobby pin or two.

Time: 5-10 minutes

Skill level: Easy

I hope you all liked this hairstyle as much as I do! I honestly think it’s one of those hairstyles that could be perfect for most occasions, for a casual look leave as is, or make it a bit more messy looking, or to really dress it up you could curl the hair before braiding and then add some small flowers and hair jewels to the braid, it looks soo good! 😉

Don’t forget to subscribe so you never miss a post, and let me know what you thought of this tutorial down below in the comments. 🙂

  1. This is such a beautiful hairstyle (the pics are lovely too)! 🙂 Yet it’s so simple – this is one of my favourite posts on here!
