Bubble Braid | Sports Hairstyle

Today I’m going to show you how to do this super cute bubble braided sport hairstyle. I realise I just posted a bubble braid combo last week, so doing another type of bubble braid this soon was totally unintentional. But I just had to post it after I tried it in my sister’s hair and she absolutely loved it!

This hairstyle would also be great for school, or basically any other occasion depending on how you wear it! 😉

The best thing about it, is that you can actually do this in almost any length of hair! So onto the tutorial!

Items needed: a handful of small hairties (that’s it!)

Difficulty: Easy

Time: 5-8 minutes

Step-by-step instructions:

1.) Start by picking up a section of hair at the top of the head and secure off with an elastic..

2.) Next, add in hair to either side of the section you just tied off (kinda like you would a french braid.) And tie it all together with another elastic:

3.) Now gently tug on the little bump in the middle to create the bubble effect (you can make it as big or small as you like.)

4.) Now grab the tail of the section of hair you just tied off, and move about an inch down to tie off another bubble section. (you can pull the section out a bit before adding in hair if you prefer, like I did in the picture.)

5.) Just repeat the same steps over and over until you reach the base of the neck.

6.) When you run out of hair to add in, just continue with the bubble braid technique till you reach the ends of your hair. (alternatively, if you have short hair and run out when you reach the base of your neck, you can either just tie it off there and leave a tail pocking out, or you can tuck the ends underneath the last bubble and pin in place.)

That’s it! It’s quick, it’s easy, looks cute, what more could you want? 😀  For a similar look, check out Emily’s post: Pull-Through Faux Hawk

I think this hairstyle would be absolutely perfect for almost any type of sport because it gets the hair out of way, while still being very secure and looking great! 😉 Plus, it’s super simple and easy to do, so I’d most definitely class this a DIY style.

Feel free to check out my Boho Bubble Braid Combo from last week here. 😉

Well that’s all for today’s post, I hope you enjoyed it! Leave a comment down below letting me know if you would wear this hairstyle and where!
