Quick DIY Half-up | Easy Hairstyles

Happy New Year everyone!!!

For the first post of 2019, I’ve got something simple and easy that anyone should be able to do. As you can see it works great in long hair, but I also think it would work fairly well in short hair too!

Also, remember you can leave any hairstyle requests you have right here (we love it if you can include a picture if possible too, so we have something to base our re-creation off. 😉 )

Items needed: two small elastics

Time: 3-5 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Step-by step instructions:

1.) Start by picking up a small section of hair about an inch back from your part line.

2.) Braid the hair in a regular plait down about half way, making sure to start the braid in the direction you want it to go after you’re done.

3.) Repeat steps 1-2 on the other side of your head. Next, tie the two braids together at the back of your head.

4.) Pick up some hair from in front of the braids on either side of your part and bring to the back of your head to tie them together over the top of the hair tie you just used to secure the braids.

5.) Now poke two of your fingers up and behind the tied section to create a flip-under (basically you just pull the ends through the hole you just created with your fingers.)

It should look like this when you’re done (I repeated the pull-through thing twice to create a good twist.)

6.) Then gently go along the twisted sections tugging on the edges to create a fuller look. Finish with hairspray is desired and you’re done!

Let me know if you’d try this hairstyle down below in the comments (we love hearing from you), and what occasion you’d where it for. Also, if you have any post requests aside from tutorials, let me know in the comments.

Enjoy the rest of your first week in 2019, and we’ll see you back here next week for another tutorial! 🙂
