Hello Everyone!

I am so excited that summer is just around the corner!

Today I am going to show you this super cute bandanna top-knot hairstyle. Let’s get started!

Items Needed: 1 hair elastic, bandanna // time needed: 5-8 minutes (or less!) // difficulty: easy

*****************

1.) Start with your hair in a middle part (or a side part works too!)

tip: When my hair is wet I love to spray it with a sea salt hair mist. It adds a lot of texture and gives your hair beach-like waves. That’s what I did today. (:

2.) Grab a 1 inch section of hair from one side of the part and begin to do a french braid  straight back. Make sure to use smaller pieces of hair when you add strands in. Stop adding strands in just a couple of inches before the crown of your head ends. Do a couple stitches without adding in strands and temporarily secure with an elastic. Repeat this step with the other side. Now your hair should look something like this.

Tie your hair as if you are doing a regular half up pony tail, but on the last twist of the elastic, pull your hair half-way through. Pull gently on the outer ends of the top-knot to make it more fluffy.

4.) Roll up your bandanna and wrap it around your top knot and tie it in a secure knot, leaving the ends hanging on the side.

How to Create the Perfect Ponytail!

Today I’m going to let you in a little secret: how to make your ponytail look longer, and more full with just one simple trick! (No hair extensions required!) I’ve done this hairstyle on and off for quite a few years now, it looks so good in second day curls, and you could even add a dutch braided accent going into the ponytail like this.

I would recommend you use curls as the base for your ponytail, because if you have straight hair the trick will be much more noticeable. Plus, when you have a long ponytail of curls it looks great! 😉 You can do whatever curls you’d like, I just did some loose messy curls today for a more casual look.

Time: 1 minute (max!)

Difficulty: Super easy!

Step-by-step instructions:

  1.  Begin by scooping your hair up at the front like you would a normal ponytail..
  2. Next, gradually add hair from both sides of our hair all the way to the base of your neck,
  3. You should a upside down “V” shape of hair left out underneath the ponytail you’re holding in your hand..
  4. Tie off the majority of the hair in a high ponytail (the higher you do it, the longer you hair will look)
  5. And leave that V shaped section out of the ponytail..
  6. Adjust the ponytail to you liking and make sure the hair underneath is not visible.
  7. And you’re done!
